Pre-Camp Reflections
I was interested in project as I was curious how electronics work. Also, I would like to know how technology can better help the people around us.
Plenary Session Reflections
A)- Plenary session by Prof Kerry Sieh: I learnt that earthquakes may affect us in more ways then just destruction to homes, and loss of lives. Also, i have learnt how to find out what year tsunamis hit the shore, as well as how to find out how to sense and predict earthquakes.
- IT for Animation by Prof Seah Hock Soon: I learnt that making animations is a very tedious project, that needs a lot of commitment from the producer, and financial help. I also found out the difference between 2D and 3D animations, and the way they are made. Animation is a type of innovation, and could be marketable as well.
- Innovative breakthroughs in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology by Prof Ma Jan: I leant that nano-technology has many benefits to our community. Strengthening of materials, colouring or stealth are just some of the many examples in the uses of nano-technology.
Reflections for Applied Project Challenge
- Discuss how the project has deepened your understanding and broadened your awareness of the selected discipline.
The project has taught me more about the basics of electronics, as well as made me understand that circuits don't just involves placing components together, but there is a need to do research before you start
- What do you now understand about this discipline that you were unaware of at the beginning?
I was unaware about all the technical terms used such as ohms or amperes before.
- Describe how what you have learned from doing this project can be connected to what you are learning at school.
For future science projects, maybe, just maybe my teams project could be about electronics.
- Describe how you can apply what you have learned from doing this project.
I can help repair simple circuits at home, say how to fix the lightbulb .
- At the end of the project, what new questions do you
How much more do i not know?
